Exporting Using CSV Files

The Import/Export CSV File menu item allows you to create a "CSV" file that contains all the entries in your log or just the "currently selected" entries.

A CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file can be used to export XMLog log entries to data-processing applications like Open Office.

When you choose Import/Export CSV File you will be prompted to select the XMLog fields that will be included in the CSV file. You can also optionally include a header line as the first line of the CSV file. This header line provides names for each of the fields contained in the file, not all applications can handle headers so some experimentation may be required.

After selecting the fields and options you'll be prompted for a file name. By default a file extension of .csv will be used but any extension can be used by explicitly providing the name (e.g. mycsvfile.txt).
